Reading a customer's buying history

What each figure on the Buying history tab means.

Open a customer and choose Buying history.

Trading summary

  • Orders placed, Products bought, First order, Last order and Total ordered.
  • Quotations — how many were won, lost and are still open, and the quotation win rate.
  • Orders roughly every — the customer's usual gap between orders.

One row per product

  • Purchases — how many times this customer bought the product.
  • Last purchase and Last price — the most recent order line.
  • Price range — the lowest and highest price this customer actually paid.
  • Typical quantity — the quantity they usually order.

Open a row for more: Buys roughly every (their usual gap), the shortest and longest gaps, how many days since the last purchase, and a line such as "Based on 5 purchases between 12 January and 3 June".

How sure the pattern is

Each product shows how much history stands behind it:

  • Bought once — not a pattern yet — one purchase; no interval can be worked out.
  • Provisional — one gap observed — two purchases; treat the interval with care.
  • Repeated purchase — three or more purchases.

Past the usual gap means the days since the last purchase are already longer than the customer's usual interval. For a repeated purchase, this is what puts the product on Ready to reorder.

Quoted and not won

Prices from rejected or expired quotations are shown separately. They are prices you offered, not prices the customer paid, so they never count towards the price range.
