What is Commercial Memory?

What RABT remembers about each customer, and where to find it.

Commercial Memory is the customer's buying history and related commercial context. It connects, for each customer:

customer × products × purchase history × prices × quotations × follow-ups

Where you see it

Open a customer and choose the Buying history tab ("What this customer buys"). There you will find:

  • a trading summary — orders placed, products bought, first and last order, total ordered, quotations won, lost and open, and how often they order;
  • one row per product — how many times they bought it, when they last bought it, the last price, the price range and the typical quantity.

What it is used for

  • Signals. Ready to reorder and Going quiet come from the gaps between a customer's own orders. See What are Signals?
  • Suggested prices. A quotation line's suggested price starts from what this customer has paid before. See How the suggested price works.
  • Conversations. Before you call a customer, you can see what they usually buy and what they paid last time.

What it needs

Commercial Memory is built from your orders and quotations in RABT. A new workspace has none, so import your sales history and keep recording new orders. Patterns need repetition: a product bought once shows as "Bought once — not a pattern yet".

What it is not

It is a record of your own trading with the customer — not market data, not other customers' prices, and not a guess about the future. See Where the numbers come from.
